Nejjarine Museum of Wooden Arts & Crafts

An old fondouq housing a wondrous collection of masterpieces on functional art.

Located in a restored fondouq, a caravanserai for merchants to sell their wares, the Nejjarine Museum of Wooden Arts and Crafts hosts a rich collection of functional wooden furniture adorned with intricate carvings and patterns, elevating them into the realms of art.

The fondouq itself is astounding. Its walls are decorated with rich woodwork panelling, making it the perfect setting for a museum celebrating the finest wooden crafts in Fes. The real treasures however, lie within its rooms. They are filled with antique wooden doors, prayer beds, traditional craftsmen tools and musical instruments. Take your time to admire each exquisite artefact and marvel at the skill of the craftsmen who could turn a block of wood into a work of art.

Before you exit this beautifully restored fondouq, remember to head to the rooftop for some unforgettable, stunning views of the Medina.
