Its comprehensive range of exhibitions include everything from glittering gems and minerals you’re actually allowed to touch, to towering dinosaur skeletons and even include collections of art and artefacts from ancient times.


The museum places particular emphasis on the local environment and history of California and Los Angeles. In their “Becoming L.A.” exhibit, you’ll learn all about the history of LA from the time of the first Spanish settlers to present day. The Nature Gardens, filled with a variety of bushes, ponds and plants specially planted to attract L.A.’s animals, will let you immerse yourself in the buzz of the city’s native wildlife. Look out for squirrels and hummingbirds zipping among the trees and flowers, or birds taking a quick dip in the pond!

Tips Before You Go
