Natural History Museum of Geneva

The history of civilization can be learnt here.

The Natural History Museum of Geneva was founded in the 1960s, and certainly looks the part. Home to Switzerland’s biggest exhibition of natural history, the popular museum sees over a quarter of a million visitors every year. The ground floor is where you will see more than 200 fascinating stuffed local animals. Keep an eye out for one of the museum’s popular figures named Janus, a tortoise that believe it or not has two heads. As you venture upstairs to the first and second floors, you will see preserved animals from tropical climates, including the extinct dodo bird and great auk. Go up even further and you will see sections dedicated to sciences such as astronomy and evolution. You simply must see the statue of Australopithecus Lucy, the oldest human fossil, and moon stones donated to the museum by NASA. Experience a day of educational fun at the Natural History Museum of Geneva.
