Natural Arch (Arco Naturale)

The gateway to the Sorrento Peninsula.

Peering through the craggy edges of the spectacular Arco Naturale, visitors catch a glimpse of the shimmering, deep blue waters of the Sorrento Peninsula, gorgeously set against the weathered, dramatic ridges of the Punta Campanella, and the stunning islets of the Li Galli archipelago. Perched along the east coast of the island of Capri, the Arco Naturale, as its name belies, is a beautiful natural arch dating from the Palaeolithic ages, spanning an impressive 12 meters wide and 20 meters high.

Formed of limestone and built by millennia of gradual erosion and geologic processes, the Arco Naturale stands as the last remaining vestige of a collapsed grotto, and unabashedly stuns with its natural, elegant beauty. Along the route to the Arco Naturale, visitors enjoy several scenic, idyllic outlooks over the East Capri coastline and the Sorrento Peninsula, making the Arco Naturale the perfect destination for a relaxing, tranquil day amidst the very best of Italian natural scenery.
