Taipei City, Taiwan
National Taiwan Museum (國立台灣博物館)

Witness the epic history of Taiwan and more at the National Taiwan Museum.

Established in 1908 during the Japanese Occupation, the National Taiwan Museum is the oldest in the country. Carefully curated in five disciplines – anthropology, botany, zoology, education and earth sciences, there are many highlights to discover.

Look out for some of Taiwan’s most fascinating cultural artefacts such as the collection of stone tablets and relics of the Giant stone culture. Furthermore, see the interesting old cannons and locomotives in its outdoor exhibition. Or learn more about the indigenous species of flora and fauna of Taiwan and do not miss the awe-inspiring bronze sculptures of buffaloes.
