National Museum of Nature and Science (国立科学博物館)

A science museum located in Reno Park in Tokyo, Japan.

The National Museum of Nature and Science is a museum located in the north-eastern corner of Ueno Park in Tokyo, Japan. It was officially established in 1871 and was previously named the Ministry of Education museum, followed by Tokyo Museum, the National Science Museum of Japan before it got its name today. It was renovated twice in the 1990s and 2000s and today offers a wide variety of historic and scientific exhibits for visitors to enjoy.

Two of its main galleries are the Nihonkan Gallery (or Japanese Gallery) which houses artefacts like the Futabasaurus fossils, exhibits about the Japanese as well as the rich history of their country. Not forgetting the Chikyukan Gallery (or Global Gallery) which houses the Mitsubishi A6M Zero Model for example, as well as the evolution of dinosaurs and biodiversity. Alongside these exhibitions, there is also an exploration area for young children! A place that is family-friendly and also for all, the National Museum of Nature and Science has plenty to offer!
