Not to be confused with the museum in Mexico City of the same name, this museum dates back to 1875 and is the oldest anthropology museum in Spain. Aimed to promote values of cultural pluralism and intercultural understanding, the Museo Nacional de Antropología (National Museum of Anthropology) holds artifacts belonging to the people of Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania. Divided into three floors, each floor is dedicated to a different subject. The first floor is the Asia Hall, with special attention given to the Filipino culture. The second floor is the Africa Hall, while the last floor is dedicated to the indigenous people of the Americas. The exhibits also allow visitors to compare and understand the cultural similarities and differences between each subject.
