The National Maritime Museum is situated in Greenwich, London and is the top maritime museum in the country and perhaps the largest of its kind in the entire world!


The historic buildings are part of the larger Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site which includes the Royal Observatory and 17th century Queen’s House. The museum is a public body which is sponsored by the country’s Department of Culture, Media and Sport and like other public funded national museums, it is free for admission. Officially opened in 1934 and spanning over 200 acres, the museum is certainly a must go for anyone interested in the maritime history of the UK.
