This new art museum is a must-visit destination in Singapore.

The largest museum in Singapore, the National Gallery showcases modern local and Southeast Asian art in two of Singapore's landmarks: the former Supreme Court and City Hall. Housing more than 8,000 pieces of art, this museum is one of the world's largest in terms of their collection of modern art from Singapore and Southeast Asia. Built to provide a unique experience of art, andappreciation the local, as well as regional, history and heritage, the National Gallery does so in incredible fasion via its amazingly curated collection of artworks.


The exhibits' origins range from the 19th century right up to the present day and focus on the rich heritage and culture of Southeast Asia. It features artworks from local artists like Cheong Soo Pieng (1917 – 1983) and Georgette Chen (1906 – 1993); as well as international artists like Fernando Amorsolo (1892 – 1972) and Nguyễn Gia Trí (1908 – 1993). This museum also offers guided tours and occasionally artist talks, to help visitors gain more insight and knowledge about the exhibits. A comprehensive representation od Singapore art located at the heart of the civic district, the largest visual arts venue in Singapore is definitely one of the best in the country and is certainly a must-visit!
