What if you could touch the moon and walk amongst the stars just as the first man in space did?
The first step to initiating your astronaut training program is to enter the NASA Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex where your training program has been sectioned into multiple mini mission zones that will fast forward you through what it takes to be an astronaut.
Your program begins at the Space Shuttle Mission where you will have to uncover the extensive NASA Shuttle program that came to a close in the year 2011. Your task will be to identify the original body of the shuttle Atlantis, the brave pioneer of 33 successful space missions which is an impressive track record for one of the earliest models built. You will then be put through a launch exhibition. Don’t let your fears get the best of you cadets as you are propelled and flung full force through the shuttle’s ascent and entry into orbit. Being a responsible space ranger requires full knowledge of your predecessors so take a walk down the Astronaut Hall of Fame in the Heroes and Legends module to uncover the story behind the big names such as John Glenn and Neil Armstrong. Finally, countdown to the launch of your adventure through NASA’s former launch countdown clock with all its flashing lights and dials. As your training program ends, we would like to congratulate you on becoming an astronaut for the day.
