Namsangol Hanok Village

Step back in time and savour the ancient charms of the Joseon Dynasty.

Namsangol Hanok Village is a treasure trove of five very well preserved traditional Korean houses, a garden, a pavilion, an arts stage and even a time capsule buried in 1994 and scheduled to be revealed 400 years later in the year 2394. Likened to entering a time capsule, this peaceful sanctuary is nestled at the north side of the forests of Namsan Mountain, where you could calm your soul in Yoon's Tearoom with a cup of traditional Korean tea and snacks. Appreciate the rare antiques displayed in the traditional houses, which is a simulation of different social classes from the Joseon Dynasty – from peasants to aristocrats.

Have fun trying on a hanbok (traditional Korean costume) and play the yutnori (traditional board game). Discover Korea’s rich history through the folding of hanji (origami paper) or perhaps enjoy learning some Korean accompanied by being schooled in traditional etiquette. Namsangol Hanok Village is the perfect place for relaxation while immersing yourself in traditional Korean history and culture.
