Namsan Park, Seoul (남산공원 (서울))

Boasting neatly pruned gardens, pretty fountains and amazing views.

A revered mountain, which lies in the heart of Seoul, Mt. Namsan is located within Namsan Park. Take a leisurely stroll uphill and head for the octagon-shaped Palgakjeong Pavilion, which will reward you with stunning views of the city of Seoul and the sea beyond. Alternatively, a great choice is to dine in at the rotating restaurant at the peak of the Seoul Tower and admire the gorgeous views below. Another interesting fact about Mt Namsan is that five beacons were built at its peak, which posed as observation spots to defend the city of Seoul in the past. Hence, do remember to view the Bonghwadae (beacon mound) at the top and check out the awesome Maritime Aquarium.

You must also visit the Cherry Blossom Path, which is home to the longest avenue of cherry trees. It is especially beautiful during the month of April where cherry blossoms are in full bloom and a festival is held across various other parts of Seoul. A charming place to have a picnic amongst neatly pruned gardens and pretty fountains; Namsan Park is one not to be missed.
