Nakanoshima Park (中之島公園)

The first public park established in Osaka, Japan!

The Nakanoshima Park is known to be the very first public park opened in Osaka, Japan, tracing its roots back to 1891 after its foundation as a city. It is situated specifically in Kita ward, on the Nakanoshima sandbank which is found between the Tosabori and Dojima rivers. The park spans over 11 hectares and comprises several facilities like the Osaka Prefectural Nakanoshima Library, Museum of Oriental Ceramics and the Osaka Central Public Hall.

The public hall was established in 1911 and remains a nationally significant cultural property and the museum was established through a donation from a trading family.
