If you believe that it can’t, then stop by the Museum of Royal Antiquities to truly immerse yourself in Vietnamese culture. Located in Hue, this museum spans over 6000m², and specializes in antiquities, or ancient artefacts, from the Nguyen Dynasty.


The minute your eyes rest upon the museum, you know you are in for a treat, as the architecture of the museum sets the tone for what to expect within. With its sloping roofs and detailed decorations on the top, this bold museum is home to approximately 10,000 antiquities. Feel like royalty as you gaze upon treasures used by the Nguyen rulers themselves, with objects made out of all sorts of materials, from gold to bamboo. You can even see literature such as poetry and stories displayed here.


The museum’s main showroom, the Long An Palace, is definitely a must-visit. Consisting of seven separate compartments and supported exclusively by timber pillars, the Palace is home to an abundance of collections from the Nguyen Dynasty. Enamelled bronze wares, sets of jade leaves stuck onto gold tree branches and a collection a rare literary pieces are just some of the antiquities you’ll come across at this fine showroom.
