Opened since 1987, the Museum of Natural Science in Brussels has been quenching the never-ending thirst of knowledge for all its visitors. This museum is home to one of the most extensive collections of natural history specimens in Europe, with items dating back to prehistoric times!


Dinosaur lovers, you are in for a treat – right here, you can see fossils such as the Mosasaurs from the Cretaceous Period, and the Van Beneden collection from the Miocene Period. You can also find mammals from the Quaternary Period like the possibly adorable woolly rhinoceros and mammoth. For you botany enthusiasts, there is flora from the Belgian Carboniferous period. Kids especially will be thrilled with the baby animals trail, where they will learn about adorable animals all through time. Try to use public transport instead of driving, as parking is limited. The museum is closed on Mondays, so do plan your visit on other days. Take note that flash photography is not allowed inside the museum.
