Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA)

Admire the impressive collections at MALBA.

This is the perfect place to appreciate art and culture in one go! The Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires, or, MALBA, is dedicated to the preservation, dissemination and integration of modern and contemporary Latin American art from all over the world. The building itself is subtle, its avant-garde structure designed in a manner that allows it to blend with its surroundings. MALBA boasts an impressive collection of 20th century Latin American art, including masterpieces by Diego Rivera, Tarsila do Amaral and Frida Kahlo.

When you find yourself wanting to give your weary feet a break, you’ll notice that the welcoming benches are anything but ordinary. They wind and curve right into the floor, before scaling the walls. The artwork covers social and political art of the 1930s, and explores the following decades of minimalist and pop art. Of course, the museum hosts many temporary exhibits, making your visit at any time of the year, a delight. If you’re itching for a souvenir, head to the bookstore that sells postcards and other trinkets.
