Known in French as the “Musée de design et d’arts appliqués contemporains”, or MUDAC, for short, the museum is known for being the only one of its kind in French-speaking Switzerland. It seeks to reflect the changing times, and some would even call it “living art”. The constantly evolving trends that have become fundamental to the societies we live in are all found within this museum.

Peruse the exhibits at your leisure, and be awed at the camouflage in design, architecture and fashion, and the study of the companionship people find in their pets. The subjects tackled are unapologetic in nature, and do not shy from prodding at what might often shock and raise controversy. One of the most prestigious contemporary glass art collections in the world is permanently on display, along with contemporary jewelry and ceramic collections which never fail to awe the crowd. Even the 17th century building that houses the MUDAC is impressive, with a pointed spire that rises well above the surrounding buildings and draws attention to itself. This will prove to be a delight for lovers of all art mediums.
