A thought-provoking collection of experimental art forms
Antwerp’s Museum of Contemporary Art, also known as M HKA, houses an impressive and varied collection of contemporary art, produced using any medium technology can afford: film, photography, sculpture and much more.
The art housed in M HKA, are not necessarily contemporary art’s most famous works, but instead are works that express the core of contemporary art. Many of the works use avant-garde, experimental methods to push the boundaries of fine art and address varied modern-day concerns, ranging from race to sexuality to climate change.
With more than 4000 works, M HKA’s collection represents the hallmarks of modern society – constantly challenging the pre-set boundaries of human endeavour and ever-expanding to bring marginalised groups into the spotlight.
