Museo Poldi Pezzoli

See the exquisite collection of artworks at the Museo Poldi Pezzoli.

A lovely art museum located in Milan, the Museo Poldi Pezzoli houses the impressive private collection of Gian Giacomo Poldi Pezzoli and his mother, Rosa Trivulzio. Inspired by the concept of the ‘house museum’ of London's Victoria & Albert, Pezzoli started converting his apartment into rooms based on different themes. His amazing collections are categorised into various significant art periods such as the early Renaissance and Baroque. Gaze at the opulence of the rooms, tastefully designed to blend in with the paintings on the walls.

Look out for masterpieces by Perugino, Raphael, Andrea Mategna and the spectacular Lamentation over the Dead Christ with Saints by Botticelli. Furthermore, this museum is known for its great collection of Flemish and Northern European art, by masters such as Jacob Toorenvliet and Mathijs Van Hellemont. Other than paintings, there is also an astounding display of ceramics, glassworks, jewellery, furniture and even weaponry.
