A fun day out for the kids!
The Museo Pambata, otherwise known as the Museum for Children, is a children's museum situated in the district of Ermita in Manila, Philippines, not far from Rizal Park. It is situated within the former Elks Club Building and was built in 1949. It is a interactive museum, which unlike other traditional museums where displays are often behind glass and touching is very much discouraged, this museum invites visitors to actively learn through the exhibits by engaging all their senses. It sees itself as a discovery museum and resource centre for the promotion of Filipino culture, creative education programmes and children's advocacy efforts. The museum also houses regular programmes and events for various sectors. The museum is systematically divided into several rooms, each with its own theme. They include Kalikasan which focuses on the environment, Maynila Noon or Old Manila, I Love My Planet Earth and Pamilihang Bayan or Marketplace amongst others.
