Visit Buenos Aires’ hidden gem.
At the north of Buenos Aires hides the Museo Larreta Spanish Art Museum, which was the former house of the prominent Argentinian writer, Enrique Rodríguez Larreta. He was a distinguished proponent of Hispanic modernism in literature, as well as the Ambassador to France from 1910 to 1919. His impressive collection of medieval art, tapestries and French furniture, amongst other things, grew over the years that he visited Spain. After his death, the museum was inaugurated in his honor.
The house is a clear reflection of neo-Spanish colonial architecture, with a picturesque Andalusian patio boasting an impressive variety of leafy species. Beyond the gurgle of the fountains, the museum welcomes you to explore its fascinating galleries, including the gothic altarpiece dedicated to Saint Ann, and the Sacred Family altarpiece, which is attributed to Juan de Juni. Art lovers, this is a chance you simply can’t miss!
