Wrapped in a Palace, a Gift from an Italian Prince to the city of Naples.

In this gift of relatively tiny size bestowed to the city of Naples by a prince, there is an austere air of disciplined civility that is an intuitive instruction received upon entering the halls designed in an archaic style that had been no doubt nouveau riche when it was first installed, and today, it still is an interior design style that is appreciated, granted for a different reason, for its rare authenticity that came from an age when artful expressions was of decadent intricacies that might borders on gaudy, directly contrasting with modern’s preference for minimalism. Like a plain looking chest of a small size, the museum is deceptively misleading of its contents that are surely precious treasures of Neapolitan origin. Housed within are the prized wares of Prince Gaetano Filangieri’s, of Satriano, personal collection of weapons, interior fixtures, books, paintings, sculpture and porcelain, that find themselves natural to be matched against the regal colours of mustard yellow and sky blue, in what feels more like a house than an institution of historical preservation. The museum may not find itself on every tourists’ list of must-see, but it is a place to find refuge from a day spent in hurried excitement.

Tips Before You Go
Do not overlook the glazed tiles under your feet, because much like the art adorned on the walls, the tiles themselves with a most distinguishable \"f\" motif, is an original design by the prince.
