Musée Bert-Flint (Tiskiwin)

A hidden gem in the city of Marrakesh.

Musee Bert-Flint or The Tiskiwin Museum was established by Dutch anthropologist Bert Flint to showcase the best of his personal collection of Moroccan artefacts. Flint’s collection comes from his days of traversing North Africa and Morocco, and over the years, he collected a plethora of heritage items originating from the region.

Flint’s collection is displayed as a journey along ancient Saharan trade routes from Marrakech to Timbuktu and back. Upon arrival, visitors will be loaned guide sheets, which are available in several languages, after which they are directed up the staircase of a Marrakech Riad. The route then brings them round the first floor to the bottom floor rooms and garden courtyard.

Flint’s collection is truly stunning, with beautiful displays of Berber tents, fabrics, basketwork all available. Other artefacts include ancient jewellery, personal accessories, costumes, tools, textiles and many other items the Berber people used as part of their daily lives. If you so happen to be interested in Moroccan culture and wish to learn more about it, the Musee Bernt-Flint is surely one attraction that you do not want to miss.
