Surrounded by exquisite, scenic beauty, Mt. Eggenipa is not that hard an egg to crack and definitely a fun mountain to trek.
The very sight of the beautiful Mt. Eggenipa (The Eggjenibba) is sufficient to water the mouths of many seasoned mountaineers and trekkers (No pun intended). Its unique profile stands out as one drives down the E39 highway and upon first look, it seems no wonder why many want to reach the summit of this mountain. Standing majestically at the entrance of the Våtedalen (Wet Valley) looks tough to climb, but is a reasonable 5-6 hour hike for those with relatively low experience with regard to mountain-climbing.
The Lake Heggheimsvatnet is close by, enhancing the scenic beauty, as you traverse a route which alternates between tough and fun. You can even travel down to the Øvredalen valley from the Heggheimsvatnet to enjoy the gorgeous views that await you. There are even ropes, chains and T-Trails to guide you on the path, which at the end leaves you with a satisfied-enchanted mind, and a tired but happy body.
