Salzburg, Austria
Mozart’s Birthplace

A genius was born and raised right in this house, with every step you take, it was possibly one that Mozart himself took too, perhaps contributing to his brilliance.

Hagenuauer House seems ordinary, but it is nothing short of extraordinary. Known as Salzburg’s son, Mozart was born right here, in that very house. This is where little Mozart grew up, with every year, closer to people recognising his brilliance. A sunny, yellow looking building, it stands out from the paler, pastel-coloured buildings that surround it. Not a building you’ll easily miss, the Hagenuauer House was meant to stand out, just like Mozart himself.

Residing on the 3rd floor of the house on No. 9 Getreidegasse, everything of Mozart’s childhood can be found here. From the violin that Mozart’s gifted hands have graced, crafting the most beautiful symphonies, an unfinished portrait by Mozart’s brother-in-law of Mozart himself in deep thought, to even the actual clavichord he used to compose “The Magic Flute”! The house has played witness to one of the greatest composers in our world, from his birth, right through to his developing years. A stunning exhibition of a brilliance that cannot be replicated, step in and see for yourself, perhaps, you might just be standing at the very spot that Mozart was at, composing his greatest piece.
