Mount Tamalpais State Park is most visited for the mountain itself. Consisting primarily of redwood and oak forests, a plethora of hiking trails wind through the park, promising adventure to all its visitors. Once you get on the trail to reach the peak of the mountain, you will eventually be rewarded with magnificent views of San Francisco, the North and East Bay Area, the Farallon Islands, and on clear days, the Sierra Nevada!


Not only promising peaceful hikes and wonderful views, this State Park is also home to the Cushing Memorial Amphitheatre, a natural-stone amphitheatre seating close to 4000 people and exhibiting the Mountain Play every Spring since 1913. In Summer, astronomy programs are held in this theatre.
