Mount Geumosan (금오산)

Rising majestically at a height of 977m, the Geumosan Mountain beckons with beautiful wisps of clouds encircling its summit. The hike up the peak will take you through an enchanting forest filled with pine trees and majestic waterfalls. Head for the ancient Buddhist temple built in the midst of gigantic rocks and gaze at the wondrous landscapes around you.


Opt for a cable car ride to see the gorgeous Daehye (Myeonggeum) Falls and look out for an impressive standing Buddha statue engraved on a rock wall. Discover the amazing works of Mother Nature inside the fascinating Doseongul Cave and end the day admiring the stunning sunset at the exquisite Chaemijeong Pavilion.

The mountain is inaccessible during certain months, which coincide with the seasonal forest fire watches. So, do look out for regular updates on local weather conditions. To maximise one’s trip to the Geumosan Mountain, it is best to embark on this hiking trip during spring when one can marvel at the grandeur of the cherry blossom trees in full bloom. Be sure to equip yourself with some basic Korean words which will certainly come in handy during your hike!
