Grindelwald, Switzerland
Mount First

A postcard adventure.

In the summer, the craggy majestic trio of the Wetterhorn, Mettenberg and Eiger tower impressively in the distance amidst a vast expanse of rolling green fields and pristine, deep blue lakes, creating a deep sense of wonder and appreciation for the powerful, evocative beauty of the Swiss natural landscape. This picture-perfect postcard shot is even more breath-taking in winter, when the entire landscape becomes blanketed in snow to resemble that of a winter wonderland.

The magnificent views add on to the appeal of Mount First to adrenaline junkies and thrill-seekers alike, who have the option of going on the 800-metre long First Flyer, a zip-line that transports the brave to fly through the air at an exhilarating speed of 84km/h, or the trottibike scooters, which whisk daredevils back down the steep slopes towards Grindelwald at thrilling, neck breaking speeds, definitely not for the fainthearted. Visitors can also enjoy the suspension bridge on the First Cliff Walk which provide stunning panoramas of the surrounding landscape from an incredible vantage point of 7,113 feet. A multitude of hiking trails are also available at Mount First – go for a leisurely hike to Lake Bachalpsee, which glitters and shimmers invitingly in the sunlight, for another wonderful, picturesque postcard view of the lake and the Swiss Alps within an hour.
