Located in Alberta, Canada, Mount Athabasca is a great mountain to climb for alpine activity lovers. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned expert, there are routes of all difficulty levels to keep you enthralled. With an elevation of about 3491m high, reaching the peak guarantees you spectacular views of the lovely blankets of snow below, not to mention the impressive peaks of neighboring mountains.


Beginner to intermediate climbers will be able to conquer the North Glacier Route or the AA Col Route, both of which take roughly 9 to 12 hours to complete. More experienced mountaineers, on the other hand, would enjoy the challenge of the Silverhorn Ridge Route, with its steeper angles. If you time your climb just right, you can catch the awe-inspiring alpenglow and simply gaze at the mountains around you, bathed in a reddish glow. You can even choose to camp out here, or stay in a nearby motel, and bask in the magnificence of Mount Athabasca for that much longer.
