Montmorency Falls

Comparable even to the famous Niagara falls!

Be mesmerized by the hypnotic cascading waters of Montmorency Falls. Nestled within the Parc de la Chute-Montmorency in Québec, these falls have a vertical drop of 83m, with its water source coming from Montmorency River. You can take a cable car to the to enjoy a marvelous view, or walk along the suspension bridge right above the falls! For those of you who prefer the long, scenic route, there is a staircase stretching 487 steps at the side of the cliff, and you can enjoy the lovely view of the falls as you ascend and descend. Folklore has it that “La dame Blanche” (the Lady in White) continues to mourn a lost love, her cries lost in the roar of the falls.

If you are seeking the thrill of adventure, there are three via ferrata routes near the falls, as well as a 300m zipline, both of which provide a breathtaking view of the gushing waters. Make your visit in winter and you’re in for a sweet treat. Thanks to a scientific phenomenon, powdery, white snow settles at the bottom of the falls in an enormous mound, fondly referred to as the pain de sucre, or, “sugarloaf”.
