Monkey Jungle

The other Floridians.

Take a gander at humanity’s controversial ancestors in full swing as they travel from branch to branch, tree to tree, within the Amazonian Rainforest, or as they are seen lounging lazily in the Wild Monkey Swimming Pool, or when Mei the orangutan performs to entertain, and the immediate empirical evidence would be difficult to refute as they seem to be so uncannily...human in behaviour. Though observing their peculiar behaviours from behind the safety of the caged confines of a mesh wire tunnel does take away some element of danger, it presents itself as an opportunity to concentrate completely on appreciating the nuances of being a primate at its most natural within a controlled, safe unique environment. For some, intrigued by their genetic cousins playing, spurred to test their affinity with them, the wild side of the park where a separation by mesh wire doesn’t exist, is available for unfettered physical interaction with the denizens of the park. The wild side is a habitat space of 5 acres teeming with highly sociable monkeys eager to examine the visitor from another planet. And even though they are quite intelligent, a gift of banana is not something that they will take slight with.

Tips Before You Go
Despite being named for its primate residents, the park also cares for birds that are available for viewing. All physical interactions with monkeys will be overseen by a member of the Monkey Jungle staff.
