Minnewaterpark

Cement your love at this park.

Treat yourself to some romance by taking a stroll in Bruges’ Minnewaterpark. Located by the Minnewater, or Lake of Love, the Minnewaterpark is a nice quiet spot to get away from it all. The name of the lake follows the legend of a girl named Minna who fell in love with a man named Stromberg. A relationship her father opposed, Minna ran away to the forest, eventually dying in the arms of her lover when he finally found her. Thus, in honour of Minna, the lake was named after her.

As you stroll along, you are bound to see a swan couple swimming by, one of the symbols of Bruges that adds to the romanticism of the place. Legend has it that if you walk over the bridge with your significant other, your love will be eternal! So pack a picnic or even just a bottle of wine and watch the sun set over at the romantic Minnewaterpark.
