Millenáris Park

Sometimes a day in the park is all you need.

The underestimated delight of simply feeding fish and ducks by the pond is actually something that all of us associate fondly with our childhood, and will always hold a certain glamour that cannot be replaced. This is precisely what Millenáris offers with its large pond teeming with huge koi, which you can look down on from the picturesque bridge that spans its shores. Reformed from the farthest thing you can imagine from a pretty park – Ganz Electric Works factory – the architects of the park have truly succeeding in transforming the area from ugly duckling to beautiful swan. However, out of respect for its past inhabitant, machinery from the factory can still be seen dotted around.

The park is a cultural complex that hosts exhibitions, plays, concerts and performances all year round. Your children will be begging you to bring them here every weekend once they’ve experienced the massive indoor playground, Milipop, not to mention the whole host of kid’s programmes like puppet shows, handicraft workshops and children’s concerts that regularly rock up. WAMP is a fashion and design market that appears once or twice a month selling jewelry, clothes, bags and shoes galore, as well as delicious food. You never know what event is gonna pop up next, so try your luck and you’ll probably find something the whole family will love!

Tips Before You Go
The “Chocolate Concert” series is the perfect way to get your children to see classical music as a fun and exciting genre rather than boring. The Invisible exhibition is a popular activity held within the park where you embark on a unique tour guided by blind people through pitch black darkness in order to experience what it’s like to not be able to rely on your sense of sight.
