Miami Beach Boardwalk

About 4 miles of boardwalk along the coast of Miami.

Starting at Indian Beach Park at 46th Street and Collins Ave, the Miami Beach Boardwalk heads parallel to the sea all the way through the Ocean Drive Promenade to 5th Street, covering up to 4 miles for easy travel along the coast for sightseeing or for jogging or biking (but only south of 21st street).

Even though Miami Beach is a commercial and crowded beach, the boardwalk does pass by natural vegetation and you can spot local wildlife, even this close to the city. Autumn offers beautiful migratory birds that fly to Florida, and morning runs are the best time to look at the scenery, before the crowds get to the beach.

Other than the beach itself, many of Miami Beach’s famous sights are a stone’s throw away, including the Lincoln Road pedestrian mall. The great thing about the boardwalk is that it is in such close proximity to all the famous spas, nightclubs and restaurants that it is really convenient to take a walk on the boardwalk at sunset after your dinner and walk over to enjoy the nightlife of Miami Beach.

Tips Before You Go
The boardwalk is accessible to all as there is a free trolley service that runs every 20 minutes along it. There are half-hour rental bikes available along the boardwalk as well, as well as four major car parks along the boardwalk, and many more on the streets adjacent, so getting to the boardwalk is no trouble either. Just further south of the boardwalk is the South Pointe Park, from where you can view the Port of Miami.
