Officially opened to the public in 2010, the Meydan Racecourse is a luxurious venue comprising of a massive grandstand, the world’s first trackside five-star hotel, and a plethora of state-of-the-art facilities including a theatre, the Meydan Museum and Gallery, a 9-hole golf course, and a variety of high-end international restaurants. This sleek and modern architectural work of art builds on the legacy of the Nad Al Sheba Racecourse, which previously occupied the site, and houses an impressive 1.5-kilometres long grandstand with seating for as many as 80,000 spectators. The racecourse currently consists of a 2,400-metres turf race track, and a 1,750-metre dirt course.


As a premier destination for horseracing, the Meydan Racecourse has been hosting several prestigious, international events annually, such as the Winter Racing Challenge, Dubai International Racing Carnival, and the Dubai World Cup – the richest and most prestigious race day in the world. Tips Before You Go
Entrance to the Meydan Racecourse is free, and is worth a visit to experience one of the races and raffles that frequently take place at the tracks.
Visitors are advised to adhere to the dress code of smart casual when visiting the Meydan Racecourse, especially during major horseracing events such as the Dubai World Cup, during which visitors are usually dressed to the nines.
