Metropolitan Museum of Art

Have we MET?

Better known as "The Met", the Metropolitan Museum of Art is the world's second most-visited museum after the Louvre, and is also the biggest museum in the United States. The Met has an extensive collection that spans over 5,000 years of history, from modern art to ancient Egyptian artefacts, curated by dedicated scholars in specialized fields. Its Asian department supposedly houses the most comprehensive collection of Asian artwork in the States. There are ever-changing exhibitions at the museum that take you through history and culture.

Today, the Met's exhibition takes up the space of some twenty buildings accreted over the century, and is now over 20 times the size of the original space when it was first built in 1872. Make sure you pay a visit and be a part of this modern treasure's growth!
