Marlins Park

The home stadium of the Miami Marlins.

In Little Havana is the home of the Miami Marlins, the city’s Major League Baseball team. The team is a new and fresh one, having won two World Series Championships as wild card entries, and their stadium is spanking new as well. Architecturally, the stadium represents this fresh and young vibe as well, as Jeffrey Loria, the team’s owner at the time said. Not wanting to look backwards, he wanted a contemporary and new design for his stadium, one that represented Miami as a city in its outlook of the future.

You don’t need to be a baseball fan to visit Marlins Park: being in Miami is enough reason to check out a stadium that represents the vibe of the city itself. In fact, the stadium is so “Miami” that its design and embellishments wouldn’t fit anywhere else. Where else would you put pastel palm tree tiles? The landscaping represents Miami as well, there is even sand in some places (just not on the field, of course!) and no expenses were spared. We would be hard-pressed to find another baseball stadium that represents its city so well! And with Beyonce and Guns N’ Roses among the big names hosting concerts at the stadium, it’s safe to say that baseball fans are not the only ones who like it!
