Maritime Museum of San Diego

All aboard the museum to experience the treasures of the waters!

The Maritime Museum of San Diego is easily the best place to be at if you want a closer look at what used to roam the waters in history. It houses submarines, sailing ships, and steam-powered boats that have been restored and maintained. Some, like the world’s oldest sailing ship The Star of India, are still being operated here! While the ships here are the museum’s main attraction, there are also permanent and temporary exhibitions available. Still not convinced why you should come here? Check out one of the water adventures offered here and you might just change your mind. Opt for a leisurely cruise by the bay or a four-hour sail if you have time to spare. If you love animals, you can go whale watching too! Once you’ve completed touring the museum – and perhaps a short trip on the waters – pick one of the many public events that it hosts. With so many activities to do here, you will be kept intrigued and entertained throughout.
