Maritime Museum of Barcelona (Museu Marítim de Barcelona)

Marvel at huge vessels housed in a historically-rich building.

Located in the former Barcelona Royal Shipyard at the Port Vell area, the Museu Marítim de Barcelona (Maritime Museum of Barcelona) details the maritime history of Catalonia. Visitors will be amazed by the exhibits within, notably the full-scale replica of the royal galley used by Juan of Austria (1547 – 1578) at the Battle of Lepanto. The four-mast schooner Santa Eulàlia is also a permanent exhibit not to be missed. Other attractions in the museum include collections of navigational instruments, model collections of vessels, and exhibitions showing the relation between man and sea throughout history. In addition, temporary exhibits and educational activities are held here as well, so you will be provided with a new learning experience each time. There is also a café and a shop catered to visitors who would like to purchase a souvenir to take home with them.
