Malay Heritage Centre

Situated in Kampong Glam, the Malay Heritage Centre is a museum dedicated to the culture, heritage, and history of Malay Singaporeans. The centre, which was formerly the Sultan's Palace (Istana Kampong Glam), is filled with historical artefacts, interactive multimedia and exhibits showcasing the Malay community in Singapore. Truly a rich showcase of Malay heritage and culture, the museum houses various artefacts, and showcases multiple interactive multimedia along with vibrant exhibits to best depict the lives of the Malay community in Singapore.


There are six permanent exhibits over the two levels of the center, as well as special exhibitions from time to time. Gelam trees also stand on the grounds of the center, along with a replica of a Bugis prahu boat, the Pinisi, with information markers on the history of the Bugis people. Free guided tours are also available at the Malay Heritage Centre, so come on down to learn more about Singapore's Malay community!
