Maizuru Park (舞鶴公園)

A beautiful park surrounding the ruins of Fukuoka Castle.

Just 15 minutes away from the centre of Fukuoka City lies Maizuru Park, which is built around the old ruins of Fukuoka castle. The park is a popular destination during late March to early April, when cherry blossoms begin to bloom and fill the park with beautiful shades of white and pink. Take a stroll through the gorgeous tunnel of cherry blossoms, a beautiful scene which makes for postcard-worthy photographs. If you are unable to visit Maizuru Park during spring, it is still worth a visit in the other seasons, for each season brings forth a different series of flowers that are enchanting in its own ways. Apart from the lure of flowers, the park also offers sports and recreational activities for visitors to enjoy. To experience the little bit that is left of the castle which Maizuru Park surrounds, climb the hill to the Fukuoka Castle Remains.
