Mag-Aso Falls

Magnificent “Smoke” Falls.

A popular tourist attraction due to its powder blue waters and fairytale-esque landscape, the gorgeous Mag-Aso Falls continues to enchant visitors with its natural beauty. This hidden gem is situated far away from the rest of the major tourist attractions on Negros Island, and can be accessed via a 2-hour long car ride from Bacolod City.

The waterfalls name, Mag-Aso, originated from the Hiligaynon word, “aso”, which loosely translates to “smoke” in English. Visitors easily understand the significance of this meaningful name upon observation of the powerful cascade of water that comprises the twin 8-metres tall waterfalls, creating huge sprays of mist akin to smoke in the process. A beautiful turquoise blue man-made pool lies near the bottom of the main falls, and is perfect for children to safely swim around in, instead of the deeper main pool situated right beneath the falls.
