Lyric Theatre

Second-Largest Broadway Theatre.

The second-largest theatre on Broadway, the Lyric Theatre has a seating capacity of 1,930 and has hosted several acclaimed productions such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The theatre was built in 1903 and hosted a few Shakespeare plays until its conversion into a movie theatre a few decades later. It was converted back to a theatre albeit unsuccessfully in the 70's and endured a brief stint as a nightclub until it fell into a state of disrepair due to neglect. The surviving theatre was then restored towards the end of the second millennium and would be the fabulous theatre you see today.
