Lyceum Theatre

A stage where numerous world-renowned performances have been performed.

As the oldest continually operating theatre, the Lyceum Theatre is like the Grand Dame of Broadway, famous for its musical and theatrical performances. Conveniently located near the famous Times Square in Midtown Manhattan, this theatre was built in 1903 by David Frohman. As the first Broadway theatre ever to be granted landmark status in 1974, its architectural façade is something to behold. With its splendid Beaux-Arts decor, elegant limestone façade with six lavish Corinthian columns, it consists of three storeys and has a seating capacity of 922. The sleek marble staircases lead to the mezzanine at the foyer. Well-known plays such as The Importance of Being Earnest (1910) and The Postman Always Rings Twice (1936) have been staged at this very theatre.
