In Spain’s Valencia is a City of Arts and Sciences dedicated to displaying the best of our creations to anyone who steps in. Interlocking concrete joints forming literal skeletal frameworks, sleek domes of metal and landscaped water features serve as a medley of elements imagining a scene from the future. Yet there is only one point in the entire city where you’ll be able to take in all these segments together as a whole.

That would be the l’Umbracle. This garden of Mediterranean and tropical vegetation is held suspended beneath floating arcs over 17,500sqm. Along the clean paved walkways, you will be led down an aisle of biodiversity and contemporary art accentuating the theme of modernity echoed throughout the city. Cooled by the swaying fronds and the shade of the plants, this is the perfect spot for where to head to next and explore within the City of Science.

Tips Before You Go
Perhaps when you look up l’Umbracle, the first suggestion to pop up is not a garden but a space lit up in neon pink and glowing purples past sunset. L’Umbracle besides being a picture-perfect garden, is also one of the best night-life spots in Valencia. It’s said the club is only operational during the summer months and can get exceptionally busy during the weekends when local crowds join in. A rather unexpected attraction of this location, don’t forget to try out the experience at least once.
