Every visit to the capital of France is incomplete without a trip to the Louvre Museum.
Needless to say, the Musee du Louvre (Louvre Museum) is a definite must-visit when visiting the city of Paris. With its distinctive glass pyramid entrance, the Louvre Museum is unmissable to those entering the capital. Inside, the museum houses European works dating all the way back from the Middle Ages to 1848, as well as collections from the ancient Egyptian, Greek, Etruscan and Roman civilizations.
The most visited attraction in the museum would definitely have to be the famous Mona Lisa painting, the masterpiece of painter Leonardo da Vinci (1452 – 1519). However, do not discount the other attractions inside, as there are countless valuable artworks on display. These include the Raft of the Medusa, the Venus de Milo, and the Winged Victory of Samothrace. Visit the museum at nightfall for an alternate perspective, where the glass pyramid lights up and sparkles alongside the stars in the sky. Besides being a repository of art, it would seem that this museum is a work of art in itself.
