Losail International Circuit

The Mecca for motorcycle fans in Qatar.

Fans of the Moto GP will be kicking themselves if they leave Qatar before stopping by the Losail International Circuit. In a remarkable show of efficiency, this track was built within the year, costing a staggering $US 58 million to build. As such, it has made its name as not only one of the best tracks in Qatar, but the Middle East as well. The track began its journey into greatness when it opened in 2004, with the Marlboro Grand Prix of Qatar. It was that year that the Moto GP of Qatar was hosted here, and has been every year ever since, with racing heroes along the likes of Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo making their mark here. The track itself is roughly 5.38km long, has 16 turns, and is flanked by artificial grass. The great thing is, it can be rented out for private events, usually along the lines of motorcycle launches and photo shoots. But for the avid motorcycle fan, just the sight of the track at the Losail International Circuit is enough to make your heart beat just that bit faster.
