Los Angeles Zoo & Botanical Gardens

One of the world’s most exotic homes to flora and fauna.

Housing more than 1,000 animals of over 250 species, the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens strives to preserve nature’s works of art through exhibiting and educating the public. It comprises 11 highlights including the Chimpanzees of Mahale Mountains - which according to Dr. Jane Goodall – one of the world’s most prominent primatologist and anthropologist, is one of the best zoo habitats.

On top of the dozens of endangered species and unique animals, the Botanical Gardens that can be found within the zoo is also worth a visit although it often gets less of the limelight. Exhibits include the California Wildflowers and the unusual greenhouse of Confiscated Plants, all of which add a wider array of colours to the already vivid surroundings. Various educational events are also available monthly, such as a 1.5-hour group trek through the Zoo and full-day events specially held for children to provide them with a hands-on experience outside of the classroom. With a myriad of activities organised almost daily, visitors of all ages are definitely in for a treat.
