The green lungs of Arcadia city.
Nestled within the rolling hills near the stunning peaks of San Gabriel Mountains, the Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden is a sprawling, resplendent lush green 127-acre botanical garden and historical site with great historical and cultural significance. Situated within what was once the heart of the Rancho Santa Anita, the Arboretum & Botanic Garden inspires poetry with its colourful abundance of flowers and magnificent gardens of exotic plants from all corners of the world, including South America, Africa, Australia, Asia and more. The vibrant plumage of the city’s national symbol – the peafowl, only adds to the dynamic natural landscape that shapes much of the beautiful city of Arcadia, interspersing the serene, peaceful atmosphere with occasional melodies of harmonious ‘singing’.
As a historical site, the garden is home to a variety of intriguing artefacts and treasures, dating from the 19th-century to the Native American and Rancho period. The arboretum is widely reported to be haunted, particularly the Queen Anne Cottage. Daredevils can seek out the ghost of Lucky Baldwin (the founder of this attraction) or one of his wives around the cottage; various strange anomalies have been reported to roam the gardens at night, making for an unforgettable experience at the scenic Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden.
