Lo So Shing Beach

Lamma Island’s hidden gem.

When thinking of beaches in Hong Kong, Cheung San and the Hung Shing Yeh beach automatically come to mind. However, there is an isolated beach, known as Lo So Shing, which quietly exists just south of Hung Shing Yeh beach. This hidden gem is quiet and serene, largely void of visitors, and yet it comes equipped with many facilities. This beautiful beach has showers, changing rooms, and even a beautiful BBQ area! Unfortunately, there are no cafes or restaurants in the vicinity, but you can always pack a lovely picnic and vending machines are available if you ever need to quench your thirst.

Although this beach is quite deserted, there are lifeguards on duty, so you don’t have to worry if you ever choose to take a swim in the inviting waters. Besides the facilities, visitors are often drawn to this beach because of its delicately soft sand, as well as the fact that it is not crammed full of people. Lo So Shing beach is definitely a wonderful place for a quick getaway. It’s best that you don’t tell too many people about it though, because then you’ll have to contend with large crowds everywhere.
